The Stuck at Home Sketch Journal: AKA 2020 Pandemic



I'm using this time, stuck in quarantine, to start a visual journal. As I am incredibly lucky to work from home in my job, I've been able to keep my position. However, I'm finding I really miss other people and I'm not loving working in my house. So my first journal entry is my key needs in keeping me focused...coffee (obvious with the name of this blog) and knitting/ art projects to keep my hands occupied. Stay tuned as I offer up a page a day for the next month. Stay safe, wash your hands, and do something this week that you've always wanted to try but didn't think you could...I mean, who's going to see it?

Well, the site is up and running... very exciting. I'm currently working on some new pieces to upload and I'm working on an idea for a children's book. So many ideas and so little ... hmmm motivation? I'm hoping to get into an Illustrator class this summer to hone my skills a little more. The Pain Continues: Day Two

Sunday I left my hotel and went directly to see the friendly faces of the bike mechanics at LL Bean's bike shop (which is open 24 hours a day every day of the year... just so you know). I was in search of a product that only bikers (and perhaps other stupid people that spend hours sitting on a tiny seat) know about.... Chamois Butter. Now if you have never needed the services of said product I won't go into details of it's use, but for those of you who know... this was an emergency. The boys of LL Bean were very helpful and full of understanding for my dilemma. Thanks guys!! The rest of my day was full of head winds and hills... my favorite, but also an amazing dish of crabcakes and later a fabulous Lobster Newburg... no calorie counting for me!!! I had a great time hanging out with Ms. Bethany Plissy and the very soft bed in her sister's house. So far so good. Oh, and Milage count: Day One: 67.5 miles Day Two: 48.5 miles Total: 116 Miles

Day Thirteen: The Kindness of Strangers

So this isn’t the journal entry for today but it looks really similar so here you are. There’s a neighbor of mine that is giving away flowers from her garden and after I took one vase full I made this painting as a thank you. I love that people are so naturally good.
