Day Three: Stuck at Home Journal: Rainy Day


Rain day is definitely not like a Snow Day. The later is the dream of every school kid (and adults as well) and the former is depressing and annoying. But I'm getting into the swing of things and using this time to be creative...hoping to jump from journal to easel and get some good painting done. But, right now I'm loving the sketching so I'm running with it. I highly recommend doing something creative right now: something that will use your brain but also make you feel good. It doesn't have to look perfect and you don't have to share it with anyone...but just make something, It's good.

Well, the site is up and running... very exciting. I'm currently working on some new pieces to upload and I'm working on an idea for a children's book. So many ideas and so little ... hmmm motivation? I'm hoping to get into an Illustrator class this summer to hone my skills a little more. The Pain Continues: Day Two

Sunday I left my hotel and went directly to see the friendly faces of the bike mechanics at LL Bean's bike shop (which is open 24 hours a day every day of the year... just so you know). I was in search of a product that only bikers (and perhaps other stupid people that spend hours sitting on a tiny seat) know about.... Chamois Butter. Now if you have never needed the services of said product I won't go into details of it's use, but for those of you who know... this was an emergency. The boys of LL Bean were very helpful and full of understanding for my dilemma. Thanks guys!! The rest of my day was full of head winds and hills... my favorite, but also an amazing dish of crabcakes and later a fabulous Lobster Newburg... no calorie counting for me!!! I had a great time hanging out with Ms. Bethany Plissy and the very soft bed in her sister's house. So far so good. Oh, and Milage count: Day One: 67.5 miles Day Two: 48.5 miles Total: 116 Miles

Day Thirteen: The Kindness of Strangers

So this isn’t the journal entry for today but it looks really similar so here you are. There’s a neighbor of mine that is giving away flowers from her garden and after I took one vase full I made this painting as a thank you. I love that people are so naturally good.
